What do you do when a couple has completely different visions?
You roll with it!
Justin really wanted the feeling of nostalgia in their engagement session while Katie, opted for a laid back style. I was feeling inspired! This past year, I've been dabbling in the kitchen a little more(toot tooting my horn!) and I've learned that mixing a little sweet and a little spice is a great combination! (especially in Thai...drooling over here)
Maybe I need to grab lunch but Katie and Justin are the perfect combination of sweet and spice!
Katie is feisty is all the best ways! She teaches kindergarten and you can see her creativity in her style. I love how she was willing to improvise with Justin. They laughed the entire time...even when we had a baby wipe mishap! Justin is precious! He recently graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Horticulture. He's the perfect sweet to Katie. He looks at Katie with adoration and it really shows here!
Cannot wait to see what their wedding day has in store on 7.7.17!
Got to spend yesterday afternoon with the Harrison family!
Welcome baby Nora. Eisley loves being a big sister. Emily and Eric are handling parenthood with ease. They have a gorgeous and photogenic pup named Kai but, you'll have to wait a bit to see more...
Steven and Adrienne welcomed little baby B into their home and hearts in December of 2016. I cannot wait for her to take their last name, prayfully by the end of this year! Then, you can see her beautiful, chunky, kissable face!
About the shoot:
We'd decided on a GORGEOUS park, full of hiking trails and nice stone picnic tables. I arrived early to scout out a nice spot. Rain clouds were on the way and I had to double check golden hour as it looked as the sun had already set.
After walking around trails and getting a face full of spider webs, I decided to bail on the whole "in the forest" idea. If I was struggling...yeah. Nobody got time for that!
I drove around towards the back of the park and like a scene from a movie stood was this large tree! Right before the baseball fields and right after a parking lot, this little gem of light (I'm pulling out all the decorative words here) kissed me on my face.
Then, they arrived and it was perfect. Baby B...she's perfect.
Their colors. Adrienne's hair. Steven's laugh!
Check out it out...
My mommy used to wash my curls. I used to close my eyes and pretend I was a butterfly in a cocoon. Now, as a mother...I found myself almost in tears washing my own daughters hair. comforting her when she tensed, singing to her. My mother shaped me into the woman I am today.
I pray that I can do the same for my Eden.
Just a lover of moments so I capture them. Taking time to enjoy the details, eat good food and fall in love with knowledge.
